Ideas for Fruits and Vegetables to Buy and Eat Organic

Daffodils start appearing in the grocery store, along with baskets of ripe strawberries and bundles of tender asparagus. The produce may look gorgeous, but according to the Environmental Working Group, a non-profit research group based in Washington, D.C., certain conventionally grown foods retain higher levels of pesticides. The U.S.D.A. also puts out a list about produce that retains higher pesticide levels. After combining the lists and eliminating the duplicates, here is a master list of the 15 foods you should try to buy and eat organic if possible:

  5. Apricots
  6. Cantaloupe from Mexico*
  7. Nectarines
  8. Pears
  9. Imported grapes
  10. Red raspberries
  11. Spinach
  12. Bell peppers
  13. Green Beans
  14. Celery
  15. Potatoes
